Gang, Gill to speak at Chicago Ideas Week panel on architecture
Ideas shape architecture and architecture shapes our world. For better and for worse, then, the quality of our ideas about architecture and the built environment are enormously significant.
Chicago architects Jeanne Gang and Gordon Gill will be taking up this theme and others at the architectural panel of Chicago Ideas Week on Monday, October 10, at the Chicago Historical Society, 1601 N. Clark St.
It should be an exciting panel, following last week’s news that Gang has received a MacArthur “genius” grant. Gill has also been in the news of late. Over the summer, his firm announced plans for the world’s tallest building, the Kingdom Tower, in Saudi Arabia.
I’ll be moderating the 90-minute event, which begins at 4 p.m. Other speakers will be added to the panel, and I’ll update you about them shortly. Tickets are $15. For details, click here.
